Like labelmates Vorga, the US black metal band Imperialist too have been playing sci-fi themed music. Their music is sharper, thrashier and more intense but it's brilliantly structured all the same. Vorga
Decipher play a form of steely, emotive and powerful black metal that's easily a highlight in the style this year. Their music is virtually flawless and boasts of exceptional songwriting. It's a gem. Vorga
Dissonant black metal band Norse write some of the catchiest songs while retaining a high level of menace that only they're capable of conjuring. Their sound is unique and they keep getting better! Vorga
I really cant pick a favorite track, this whole album kicks so much ass with its intensity and ferocity from beginning to end. Definitely a new favorite artist. Really gives off Necrophobic vibes with the melodies and atmosphere. Andrés Salas
Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey).
